As our journey through life continues, we all have experiences of joy and of pain. Both of which can affect the way we move forward in Christ. To hold strong to the end, we must understand that our God and Saviour is there through it all, He will never leave us nor forsake us.
I wrote this poem in 2005 as an encouragement to a senior leader in our church. My prayer is that it encourages and blesses you today.
Years Will Come And Years Will Go,
Still Some Of Them Seem To Linger.
Yet As They Pass It Begins To Show,
As The Cut Takes Longer To Heal On Our Finger.
But In The Midst Of The Rushing Years,
Are Events And Memories That Glisten.
And As We Look Back Through Some Painful Tears,
We Will Find That Good Times Were Not Missing.
For The Joy And The Laughter That Friends Have Brought,
Fill The Days In Between All The Pain.
And The Sense Of Not Knowing What God Has In Store,
Is The Hope That Ignites All Our Days.
So As You Look Back Down The Path Well Travelled
And Look On To The Road Ahead,
We Know That It’s God Who Ordered Our Steps
And By His Spirit That We Are Led.
For Where People Will Fall, Our God Still Stands,
Thus We Push On Though Hidden Tears
And When Man Would Say, “Stop!” “It’s Over!” “You’re Finished!”
God Says, “I’m Here, Keep Going Through The Middle Years.
