Today, in Australia and New Zealand, we’re observing ANZAC Day, a significant memorial that commemorates the bravery and sacrifice of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who fought during World War I. These soldiers exemplified courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to their country and comrades.
As we strive to live an empowered Christian life, we can draw inspiration from ANZAC Day.
While we may not necessarily give our physical lives in this battle (though some still do) we will encounter spiritual battles, temptations, and trials that require us to stand firm in our faith in the face of many difficulties.
And just as the ANZAC soldiers relied on their training and comradeship, we rely on the equipping of the Word of God that empowers us, and guides us in living a life that is pleasing to God, and we have the support of our fellow believers to help encourage us.
ANZAC Day also reminds us of the importance of remembering and honouring those who have gone before us.
As Christians, we remember and honour the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ on the cross for our salvation.
We should also honour the faithful men and women of God who have gone before us, leaving a legacy of faith and righteousness through their perseverance in the Christian walk, holding fast to the teachings of Scripture, standing firm in faith, and honouring the sacrifice made by their Lord, Jesus Christ.
Let’s draw strength from the example that has been set for us and strive to live a life that is pleasing to God, empowered by His Word, and marked by courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to our Saviour.
May we be inspired to live an empowered Christian life, honouring God and impacting the world around us for His glory.
Spend some time in remembrance today.
Be blessed & be a blessing,
Graham
