Let go of your reputation.
Once I felt like God’s reputation rested on my shoulders, on my life’s example, on how good I was at living the ‘Christian life.’
Then I went through a divorce.
I felt like I had shattered God’s, and my, reputation.
One morning in sincere, heart-wrenching prayer I received my answer. I heard the words, “My reputation is not determined by your situation.”
That, was a liberating revelation. Not as justification of doing deliberate wrong, but of grace to fall and get back up again in His strength.
