Weeds are generally seen in a negative light. But what if success can grow like weeds?
What if our success, in whatever direction our life takes, could choke out our failures like weeds take over a garden bed?
But what about what the bible says about weeds?
“One day I walked by the field of an old lazybones, and then passed the vineyard of a lout; They were overgrown with weeds, thick with thistles, all the fences broken down. I took a long look and pondered what I saw; the fields preached me a sermon and I listened: “A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there, sit back, take it easy—do you know what comes next? Just this: You can look forward to a dirt-poor life, with poverty as your permanent houseguest!””
Proverbs 24:30-34 MSG
Well, what if we could turn that on it’s head?
What if success would overgrow our weakness and failure?
What if the plants of failure and weakness and sin couldn’t breathe amidst the weeds of successes and blessings in the garden of our lives?
I believe it can.
Remember the old shampoo ad on TV? “It wont happen overnight, but it will happen.”
Think of this scripture:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9 NIV
As I was pulling weeds from my front yard yesterday, I soon realised that these things are more than what you see in the surface…
These weeds have an unseen root system that runs underneath every other plant in that area, and pops up, breaking through the soil wherever it can.
I personally believe that our God has made it so that our successes in life, our blessings in Him, can be like this.
Like weeds.
When we continually nurture prayer, worship, selfless service, scripture reading, and devotion we will be running that underground success root-system that is not easily pulled up and destroyed.
The next time you pick up a weed and blow the seeds into the air, picture that as your success spreading and being planted beyond yourself.
Exponential growth through faithfulness.
Believe it.
Action it.
Reap the weeds of success.
Be blessed & be a blessing.
